The Founder
My name is Linet Juma, the founder of Wazee Trust . The word “Wazee” means elderly people in Swahili—a name that carries both respect and responsibility. This foundation was born out of the story of my grandmother. She was a poor woman who struggled with life’s hardships, often lacking the most basic necessities. Yet, despite her struggles, she carried herself with strength and grace, and survived with the help of kind-hearted well-wishers and relatives who stood by her side.
Her journey touched me deeply. Watching her go through so much, and seeing the difference that compassion made in her life, inspired me to carry that same spirit forward. My grandmother showed me that even the smallest act of kindness can bring hope to someone who feels forgotten.
That is why I started this foundation to honor her, and to be there for other elderly people who are facing challenges. Just as she was supported, I want to support them. I want them to know they are not alone, that they are valued, and that someone cares. Our elders are the roots of our society. They are the living libraries of our history, the hands that built our communities, and the voices that have guided generations. Yet too often, in the rush of modern life, they are forgotten, isolated, or made to feel as though their best days are behind them. At Waze Trust, we refuse to accept that.
Our foundation is built on a simple but powerful belief: that every elderly person deserves dignity, respect, care, and companionship. Aging should not mean being left behind. It should mean being lifted up, honored, and supported by the very communities that our elders helped to shape.
Through our programs, we provide not only essential support like caregiving assistance, shelter, and social services, but also something equally important: connection. We bring people together across generations, bridging the gap between youth and age, to remind us all that wisdom, kindness, and love grow stronger with time.
So, I invite you all today, not just to support this foundation, but to become a part of this mission. Together, let us create a world where the words old age does not mean decline, but dignity. Where trust is not only in our name, but in every action we take.

We Work Together
At Wazee Trust, we believe that true change comes from unity. Through the dedication of our volunteers, the generosity of donations, and the impact of our projects and missions, we work hand in hand to restore dignity, provide shelter, ensure food nutrition, caregiving, mobility & accessibility and community farming to the elderly.
We Are Non Profit Organization
Wazee Trust is a community-based, non-profit organisation devoted to safeguarding the dignity and wellbeing of elderly people in Kenya. We are not driven by profit — instead, every donation, volunteer effort, and resource entrusted to us goes directly into programmes that provide nutrition, shelter, caregiving, mobility & accessibility and community farming.
Our work is guided by compassion and transparency, ensuring that support reaches those who need it most. At Wazee Trust, we exist for a purpose: to stand with the elderly and give them the security and hope they deserve.
