Caregiving
We are dedicated to ensuring that every elderly person has access to caregiving, promoting a life of comfort and well-being.
Our Core Pillars

Restoring Strength Through Nutrition
In many parts of Kenya, elderly people often face hunger due to poverty, displacement, or family neglect. At Wazee Trust, we are working to ensure that no elder goes to bed hungry. We provide consistent access to nutritious, culturally appropriate mealsβwhether through community feeding programs, food baskets, or partnerships with local farmers and womenβs groups. We also promote the establishment of sustainable food gardens within communities, homes, or elderly care centers to encourage self-reliance and food security.

Providing Safe Havens for the Aged
In Kenya, many elderly individuals live in unsafe, rundown shelters or are completely homelessβoften abandoned or forgotten by their families. Wazee Trust works to provide elder-friendly housing solutions that are safe, stable, and respectful of traditional living patterns. This includes constructing simple, accessible housing units, rehabilitating existing structures, and supporting group homes or community care centers in both rural and urban settings. We also advocate for policies that protect the housing rights of the elderly.

Promoting Wellness and Care
Access to caregiving remains one of the greatest challenges for elderly people in Kenya. Many elders suffer silently from untreated chronic conditions such as hypertension, arthritis, diabetes, or mental struggles due to lack of money, transport, or nearby support services. Wazee Trust partners with local caregivers, county support departments, and outreach programs to bring care closer to elderly populations. This includes home-based caregiving, regular wellness checks, provision of essential support, and counselling services.
Our plan to restore dignity, security and hope for the elderly people
Nutritious Food Access
Food insecurity is a daily struggle for the elderly, especially in rural areas and informal settlements. We plan to provide community-based feeding programs, works with local farmers to supply affordable food, and supports kitchen gardens and poultry projects. This will ensure that the elderly access balanced diets.
Safe and Dignified Shelter
According to statistics from KNBS many elderly people live in unsafe or unstable housing conditions. We plan to improve living standards by repairing homes, constructing low-cost elderly-friendly houses, and advocating for community elder homes. With support from churches, youth groups, and volunteers, we plan to provide safe and stable homes.
Accessible and Compassionate Caregiving
Caregiving costs are a major burden for the elderly, especially those with chronic illnesses. We plan to partner with county governments to help facilitate caregiving services, promote SHIF coverage, and support access to essential needs. We also plan to create social programs to address loneliness and depression.
